About me

I am a PhD candidate at the Open University of Cyprus in the field of Ecosystems Services in organic and conventional Agricultural systems. My background is in Agronomy, (B.Sc. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece) and in Education for the Environment and Sustainable Development (M.Sc. Frederick University, Cyprus). I currently work as an Agricultural Research Officer in Fruit Trees Section of Agricultural Research Institute (Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment).

My research interests include modern cropping systems, sustainable horticulture and agricultural management practices, tree phenology, ecosystem services in agricultural systems, evaluation and characterization of deciduous fruit tree varieties. My work is aiming on the improvement of yield, quality and environmental health of deciduous fruit trees orchards in local environmental conditions.

I have participated in LIFE+ ORGANIKO, EU project (Revamping organic farming and its products in the context of climate change mitigation strategies) and 3PRO-TROODOS, RIF project (Improve agricultural production and food processing in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus through social innovation, sustainable natural resource management and climate change adaptation).
